Matthew is a Corporate / M&A Partner, having 20 years experience undertaking a wide range of corporate work, including acquisitions and disposals, private equity, public market transactions, corporate re-organisations and joint ventures.

Matthew also acts for scale-up and growth businesses. Matthew specialises in cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions. Matthew was a Trainee Solicitor at Cobbetts LLP (now DWF), before then moving to international firm Addleshaw Goddard LLP, where he worked for almost 10 years.

Since 2019, Matthew has been a Partner with top 10 global firm CMS. Matthew acts across a range of sectors, including Financial Services, Retail & Consumer and Technology; Matthew also has significant experience acting on transactions involving Healthcare, including, in particular, those relating to care homes, retirement villages, domiciliary care and care-at-home.

Matthew lives near Harrogate and spends a lot of his free time with his wife, three young children and a dog.
